Beginner Sewing Course - September, Tuesday Evenings

A 4 week sewing course suitable for complete beginners.  Learn how to thread up and use a sewing machine and make three easy projects.

All equipment, tools and materials will be provided.  All you have to do is come along, have fun and learn!  You will also receive the paper patterns for the projects made so that you can make them again at home.

Classes are held at my garden sewing cabin in Cheam, Surrey.  Details and directions are provided with booking confirmation. 

The Projects:

During this 4 week course you will make a drawstring bag, a zipped pouch and a small tote bag.

Skills Taught:

• Threading a sewing machine
• Using a sewing machine
• Making a drawstring channel
• Inserting a zip
• Making handles
• Boxed corners
• Lining a bag

Dates: Tuesday 17th September - Tuesday 8th October

Time: 7:30pm - 9:30pm (2 hours)

Level: Complete Beginner - No experience neccessary.

8 hours of sewing tuition divided across 4, 2-hour lessons.

A Flying Bobbins Beginners Trio pattern.

All fabric and trims needed.

Use of all machines and tools.

Use of any notions needed for the project.

Minimum Class Size:

The minimum class size for this course is 4 participants.  Should this number not be reached, the class will not be able to run.  Flying Bobbins will strive to find a solution, however, in some cases, classes may have to be cancelled due to low numbers.  You will be kept informed at all times and a full refund will be given for any cancelled courses.

Cancellation Policy & Absence:

Full payment for the class shall be taken at point of booking to secure your place.

Should you wish to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible.  Cancellations made less than 3 weeks in advance will be charged at 50%.

If you can't make one of the classes, every effort will be made to accommodate you on another class, however this cannot be guaranteed.  No refund will be given for missed classes.

In the unlikely event that the class cannot go ahead due to teacher absence, alternative arrangements will be made and a range of dates will be offered to the class.  A refund for the missed class will be given where no suitable alternative can be arranged.

Illness:

If you feel unwell, please do not attend.  Every effort will be made to find an alternative class so that you can catch up.
